کہیں خاموشی کسی کو سونے نہیں دیتی
بنجر میں کھلتے ہیں پھول بے شمار کہیں
کہیں زرخیزی ہمیں کچھ ہونے نہیں دیتی
کبھی اترے دھاگے میں ازخود تعبیر کے موتی
کبھی آنکھیں کوئی خواب پرونے نہیں دیتی

کوئی لمحہ میرا دل اسے بھلاتا نہیں
خواب میں رہتا ہے وہ روبرو آتا نہیں
اسے دیکھنے کی کوئی جستجو نہیں ہے مگر
اس کو دیکھے بنا دل کو چین آتا نہیں
کہیں دل میں ہے خواہش کہے وہ بھی
خیالوں میں وہ آئے تو اور کچھ آتا نہیں
خمار آنکھوں کا ہے یا اس کے نام کا اثر
کسی شراب میں تو ایسا خمار آتا نہیں
