New Delhi. Tata Power DDL has taken a major step towards community led clean energy adoption by organizing a Mega Solar Awareness Camp at Birla Temple in Barwala Village. The initiative was conducted under the Village Customer Group Solar program and saw active participation from more than 200 villagers.
A key highlight of the event was the Solar Oath Ceremony. Fifty members of the Barwala Vikas Mandal along with local sports players, community leaders, and social representatives pledged to promote rooftop solar adoption. These participants were officially recognized as Village Solar Brand Ambassador Customers. This marked a first of its kind grassroots solar commitment in the rural belt.
The oath ceremony was held in the presence of local councilor Ms. Anju Aman Dabas and social worker Ms. Fiza Ravinder Inderraj, representative of Delhi Minister Mr. Ravinder Inderraj. Both dignitaries appreciated the initiative and encouraged residents to work together to transform Barwala into a model solar village.
The awareness camp included a solar rally led by Tata Power DDL Solar Sakhis across key areas of the village. An interactive rooftop solar workshop was conducted by solar experts to explain installation processes, government subsidies, policies, and system maintenance. A street play highlighted energy conservation, cost savings, and environmental protection.
Six existing rooftop solar customers were honoured for their early adoption of clean energy. Fifteen young sports players were felicitated as youth sustainability ambassadors. On the spot solar registrations and site facilitation were also offered to interested residents.
Tata Power DDL and VCG Solar thanked the Barwala community for their strong participation. The initiative reaffirmed the company’s commitment to village level clean energy empowerment and positioned Barwala as a leading example of community driven solar adoption.
