Interview with Diptii Karaambe
As a successful entrepreneur and advocate for holistic education, what advice would you give to women seeking to balance their passions with family responsibilities?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: Balancing personal passions with family is challenging, but deeply rewarding. Here are a few key lessons I’ve learned:
Embrace Your Unique Journey: Every woman’s path is different. Understand that success doesn’t have a single definition—it’s about finding fulfillment in both your personal and professional lives.
Prioritize and Plan: Time is precious. Set clear priorities and stay flexible in your approach. Delegation is key.
Lean on Your Support System: Surround yourself with those who believe in your vision and can offer support when needed.
Cultivate Resilience and Self-Care: Resilience is important, but don’t forget to take care of yourself. Recharge your energy and nourish your mind, body, and spirit.
Be Unapologetically Ambitious: Never feel guilty for pursuing your dreams. By doing so, you set an inspiring example, especially for the next generation.
What recommendations would you offer to parents and educators looking to incorporate Waldorf education principles into their teaching practices?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: Focus on the Whole Child: Waldorf education emphasizes emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development. Create an environment that nurtures creativity and imagination.
Encourage Hands-On Learning: Emphasize practical skills and hands-on experiences. This makes learning more engaging and meaningful for children.
Develop Patience and Flexibility: Like any educational philosophy, Waldorf requires patience. Respect each child’s learning pace and create a space for them to thrive without pressure.
Foster a Connection to Nature: Waldorf education values the importance of connecting with the natural world. Incorporating nature into daily learning can inspire deeper learning and growth.
Your personal journey has been marked by resilience and love, including overcoming health challenges and navigating your son’s educational experiences. How have these experiences shaped your perspective on life and business?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: My journey has shown me the power of resilience, love, and faith. Overcoming health challenges taught me perseverance, and seeing Arnav’s struggles in traditional schooling pushed me to embrace a new approach to education. These experiences deeply impacted my business philosophy at Modak Factory. I prioritize authentic relationships and purpose over profit, seeking meaning in every interaction, whether with customers or employees. In both life and business, I’ve learned that empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to my values are essential.
How do you integrate your spiritual practices and interest in occult science into your daily life and decision-making processes?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: My spiritual practices provide grounding and guidance. I incorporate mindfulness into my daily routine through meditation and reflection. This helps me stay centered amid life’s challenges. By integrating spiritual practices, I approach decision-making with a sense of trust in the process, relying on both intuition and careful thought. I believe that spiritual growth enhances my personal and professional life, helping me navigate the complexities of both.
If you could create a custom modak flavor inspired by your life’s journey, what would it be and why?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: I would create a Saffron-Rose Pistachio Modak with a Hint of Sea Salt.
Saffron symbolizes resilience and the richness of life’s experiences.
Rose represents love, nurturing, and the beauty in small moments.
Pistachio embodies growth, much like my journey of overcoming challenges.
Sea Salt adds balance, reminding me to embrace both sweet and tough times in life.
Looking back on your accomplishments, what’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d like to share with your younger self?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: Trust the process, even when the path seems unclear. Life will present challenges, but every setback is an opportunity for growth. Embrace the journey with an open heart and know that patience and resilience will lead to outcomes far beyond what you could have imagined.
Can you elaborate on the significance of Lord Ganesha and modaks in your life?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: Lord Ganesha has always been a symbol of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. His connection with modaks, a traditional offering, represents my belief in nurturing both spiritual and physical sustenance. Modaks, being a sweet symbol of devotion and celebration, reflect my own journey of embracing tradition and honoring life’s sacred moments.
How do you see Modak Factory evolving in the future?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: I envision Modak Factory growing into a well-known brand that celebrates Indian traditions while embracing modern innovation. We aim to expand our product range with healthier options, reach international markets, and promote sustainability through local sourcing. Additionally, we will offer cultural experiences, such as modak-making workshops, to deepen connections with our roots and create a more meaningful community around our products.
What’s next for your advocacy in holistic education?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: The next step is Nurture Tales, a project that creates stories based on holistic education principles. These stories will help children and parents understand the importance of creativity, empathy, and resilience in learning. Through these tales, we aim to shift how education is perceived, fostering a deeper connection to holistic development.
How do you balance your spiritual pursuits with your business and family responsibilities?
DIPTII KARAAMBE: I balance my spiritual practices by prioritizing daily moments of peace, such as meditation and reflection. I set boundaries to ensure I have focused time for both work and family, while trusting the flow of life. Spirituality helps me stay grounded and enriches both my personal and professional responsibilities.
