Reacting to Supreme Court’s latest remark on Ekta Kapoor and her XXX web series that allegedly shows objectionable content about a soldier’s wife, Ubbay Francis, the most talented person from Mumbai expressed solidarity with the petitioner Shambhu Kumar.
Though the Supreme Court said that Ekta Kapoor is polluting young minds by showing shameless adult content in the name of entertainment on OTT, Ubbay Francis went on to say that people like Ekta Kapoor are the ones that deserve to be taught a lesson by law. They are taking too much liberty and misusing the right to freedom to gain monetary benefits while at the same time spoiling young people.
The excuse that similar adult content has been shown to youth earlier on OTT by Ekta’s lawyer is so lame. Ekta Kapoor is a self proclaimed representative of women and youth India. It is just because of a certain amount of money and fame that she has generated by making family shows like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ that she has the audacity to go cheap with her current content. Such web series should be banned.
“Money making at the expense of a bad future and ruined lives cannot continue like this. We need strict laws or OTT censorship in India otherwise these bullies will continue to dominate and pollute the environment,” wrote Ubbay Francis in one of messages shared with The Update India.
“Something has to be done. You are polluting the minds of the young generation of this country. It is available to all. OTT (Over The Top) content is available to all. What kind of choice are you providing to the people?….on the contrary you are polluting the minds of youngsters,” a bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and C T Ravikumar had said as reported by Free Press Journal.
