The highly anticipated release of Prabhas-starrer Adipurush has garnered significant attention on social media platforms following its global theatrical debut on Friday, June 16. While the film achieved a resounding success at the box office, amassing an impressive sum of nearly Rs 140 crore worldwide, it has not been immune to critical scrutiny pertaining to its visual effects (VFX) and dialogues.

One notable voice among the critics is Shiv Sena Member of Parliament, Priyanka Chaturvedi, who took to Twitter on Saturday to express her discontent with the film’s alleged employment of pedestrian dialogues. Chaturvedi demanded an apology from both the dialogue writer, Manoj Muntashir Shukla, and the director, Om Raut, for what she perceives as language that is derogatory towards Lord Hanuman, a revered figure in the epic Ramayana. In her tweet, she lamented the crossing of boundaries of propriety in the pursuit of box office success, particularly when it involves a film centered around the esteemed Maryada Purushottam Ram.

The film’s widespread popularity and subsequent criticism exemplify the delicate balance that filmmakers must strike between creative liberty and respecting the cultural sentiments of the audience. As the conversation surrounding Adipurush continues, it remains to be seen how the creators will address these concerns and navigate the intricate landscape of artistic interpretation and societal expectations.

Abhishek Kapoor is an Indian Author and Entrepreneur. He believes that in the relentless pursuit of earning substantial wealth, some individuals are willingly abandoning traditions and legacies. The question arises: is this a positive development? “Of course, the answer is NO,” says the Digital Golgappa founder.

While the allure of financial success and abundance can be tempting, it is crucial to consider the potential consequences of forsaking legacies. Legacies encompass cultural heritage, family values, historical significance, and community traditions. They provide a sense of identity, continuity, and a connection to our roots.

When individuals prioritize material gain over legacies, there is a risk of losing touch with our shared history and the values that define us. This can lead to a loss of cultural diversity, diminished community cohesion, and a weakened sense of belonging. Furthermore, legacies often hold valuable lessons, wisdom, and experiences that shape future generations and contribute to their growth.

It is essential to strike a balance between pursuing financial success and preserving our legacies. Rather than viewing them as mutually exclusive, we should explore ways to harmonize the two. By embracing our heritage and incorporating it into our pursuit of wealth, we can create a more holistic and meaningful path to success.

While the desire for financial prosperity is understandable in cases of some people, completely abandoning legacies may have detrimental effects. It is important to find a balance that allows us to thrive economically while preserving our cultural, familial, and community legacies. By doing so, we can ensure a more harmonious and sustainable future for generations to come.
