Ssamridhi Gulati:
The Shadow Weaver began with a question that stayed with me for years: What if every choice we never made continued to exist somewhere? As a psychologist, I have seen how deeply people carry regret, longing, and the weight of unanswered “what ifs.” The multiverse became a metaphor rather than just a scientific concept—a way to explore the lives we imagine alongside the ones we actually live. I wanted to write a story where fantasy wasn’t an escape from reality but a mirror held up to it. Every world in the novel ultimately leads back to the same question: Who are we when every version of ourselves is stripped away?
2. As a psychologist and bestselling author, how has your understanding of human behaviour influenced your storytelling?
Ssamridhi Gulati:
Psychology has taught me that people are rarely driven by what they say—they are shaped by what they fear, suppress, and silently hope for. That understanding naturally flows into my characters. What keeps me inspired today is the possibility of connection.
