New Delhi: The Medical Technology Association of India (MTaI) will host an exclusive roundtable on 31st July 2026, bringing together policymakers, diplomats, regulators, trade experts and industry leaders to discuss how India’s evolving Free Trade Agreement (FTA) strategy can strengthen the country’s MedTech and healthcare ecosystem.
The dialogue comes at a significant time as India’s global trade partnerships expand, with the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) coming into force on 15th July 2026 and the India-EU Free Trade Agreement expected to become operational soon.
Themed “FTA Frameworks in an Evolving Global Order: Shaping the Healthcare Roadmap,” the roundtable will focus on the role of FTAs in driving technology partnerships, advanced manufacturing, regulatory cooperation, resilient supply chains and improved access to healthcare innovations.
Discussions will explore strategies to enhance investor confidence, promote research and development, streamline customs processes, reduce regulatory barriers and strengthen India’s position as a trusted global MedTech destination.
“Trade policy and healthcare policy are increasingly inseparable. A well-designed FTA framework can accelerate technology transfer, deepen local manufacturing and bring the latest medical innovations to Indian patients faster. This roundtable is an opportunity to translate that shared vision into practical, implementable recommendations for policymakers,” said Mr. Pavan Choudary, Chairman, MTaI.
The roundtable is part of MTaI’s decade-long efforts to build a stronger medical technology ecosystem in India by connecting industry, policymakers and healthcare stakeholders.
