Mumbai, May 30: Pan IIT Alumni India (PIAI), representing more than 500,000 IIT alumni worldwide, has launched “Pan IIT AI Niti (Pariniti),” a new think tank aimed at strengthening India’s voice in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence sector.
The initiative was soft-launched at Bombay Gymkhana and will focus on key areas of the AI ecosystem, including semiconductors, energy, cloud infrastructure, data centres, governance, and AI applications.
Speaking at the launch, PIAI Chairman Prabhat Kumar (IRS) said the think tank would bring together IIT alumni, industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to support responsible AI innovation and contribute to India’s technological growth.
Pariniti will operate through specialised verticals led by experts from the IIT alumni community. Around 50 to 60 professionals, including CEOs, startup founders, venture capitalists, senior bureaucrats, and academicians, are expected to be inducted as members.
Praxis Global Alliance has been appointed as the think tank’s knowledge partner and will support research, policy papers, and industry recommendations. The think tank plans to hold monthly discussions and provide policy inputs to government and industry stakeholders.
The launch event was attended by senior IIT alumni, industry leaders, startup founders, and members of the investment community.
