Award-winning Author Yashi Lath shares Insights into Writing Journey and Latest Book on Unconditional Love of Dogs

In 2020, during the pandemic, Author Yashi Lath began her journey in the literature field, participating in daily writing challenges and competitions to enhance her skills. Inspired by J.K. Rowling, this author is now working on her latest project, a book titled “Snowshi,” which explores the unconditional love of dogs and her own journey with her Shih Tzu puppy. In this exclusive interview with Pooja S for The Update India, she  shares insights into her writing process, lessons learned, and the themes and subjects she finds most interesting to explore in her fiction writing.

  1. Take us through your work in the professional sphere. What do you do and has it ever inspired your writing?

I am an award-winning author and I started my writing journey in 2020 during the pandemic I always wanted to do something in the literature field and then during the pandemic I started my writing career I took part in daily writing challenges and competitions for enhancing my writing skills I also took part in different anthologies before writing my solo book. My favorite author is J.K Rowling she inspired me to enhance my writing skills and make a remarkable contribution to the literature field.

  1. Tell us about your latest book …? What can the readers expect from it and who would the book most appeal to?

Currently, I am working on my latest project which talks about the unconditional love of dogs and how they support us in every phase of life. The book also talks about my journey with my adorable Shih Tzu puppy snowy that is how we met and we became Snowshi. The title of the book is snowshi which is taken from mine and snowy’s name

  1. Are you a spontaneous writer or a disciplined one? Do you often write daily?

I consider myself discipline one I write daily as I believe that writing is that emotion that you have to express daily it also enhances my skills.

  1.  What are your other interests apart from writing?

I am into music and like to listen to songs of legendary singers like shreya ghosal, Shaan, and Lata Mangeshkar. I also design posters and artwork for my writing.

  1. What inspired you to pursue a career in writing, and how did you get started in the industry?

I had writing skills since my school days but couldn’t focus on that because of my studies. My mother motivated me to invest my time in writing as she believed that I can do great in the writing industry. I practiced every day and took part in different writing challenges and competitions before writing my solo book.

  1. Can you describe your writing process and any particular techniques or strategies that you use to stay motivated and productive?

I am a natural observer and spend my time in natural surroundings which gives me ideas for new ideas for writing. I observe things and relate them to real life which builds a rich imagination. Also, I listen to music while reading books which boosts my creativity. I spend my time in the natural environment and listen to music whenever I face any creative block.

  1. Can you share any insights or lessons that you have learned during your writing career that have helped you to become a better writer?

Yes, there are many lessons I have gained during my writing journey. The first and foremost lesson is that you have to read books of different genres before beginning your career in the writing field. It will help you in understanding your writing style. Also, you have to practice writing daily you can take the help of writing prompts for enhancing your skills and creativity. Don’t feel disheartened if you don’t win any competition as participation invites several opportunities and boosts divergent thinking along with creative thinking. Just keep participating and your hard work will give you fruitful results one day.

  1. What themes or subjects do you find most interesting to explore in your writing, and why?

I am practicing fiction writing and I find it really interesting because fiction helps me in creating characters and a new world where I connect myself to the lifestyle of the characters. My favorite theme of fiction is romance, mystery, and thriller because it crafts a beautiful and suspenseful story that gives important lessons in the end along with twists and turns.
