While many celebrities and creators like Sophia Ansari took to their social media accounts to wish citizens a Merry Christmas, cricketer Mohammed Shami who was recently in the news for the T20 World Cup also shared good wishes on the occasion. However, the Islamists didn’t like it and slammed Shami for celebrating the Christian festival and accused him of going against his religion.

The Islamist netizens didn’t like the post shared by Shami and scolded him for going against his religion. Radical netizens also schooled him about Islam and indicated that it was a sin for Muslims to share wishes on Christmas. One of the users commented on Shami’s post and said, “Shame on Shami. Are you a Muslim?”.
Similar reactions were also observed when Shami wished Dussehra and Diwali.
