About the event:
The 4th National Amity Quiz, 2022 was organized by Amity Law School, Amity University, Lucknow campus on ‘Constitutional law on 27thSeptember,2022. The event was held in offline mode. The seminar witnessed participation from different law colleges across India. The competition will provide a platform for the participants to compete and test their knowledge and understanding of the Indian Constitution.
The competition comprised of three rounds namely, Preliminary/ elimination round, semifinal round and the final round.
The agenda behind this organization is to celebrate the spirit of constitutionalism and to instill in the future generation advocates the sense of pride and respect for the nation.
Inaugural:
The Ceremony began with the Saraswati Vandana which was performed by Sunaina Gupta and thereafter followed the lighting of the lamp by Professor Dr. J.P. Yadav, Director, Amity Law School, Amity University Lucknow Campus, Assistant Professors, Tapan Chandola, Arvind Kumar Singh, Rajiv Kumar Singh, Anuj Kumar Sharma,Juhi Saxena ,Pakak Jawa and Shwalini Singh.
The first keynote address was by the Professor Dr. J.P. Yadav, Director, Amity Law School, Amity University Lucknow Campus, he thanked all the committee members and faculty conveners of the quiz and spoke about the constitutional quiz as it started back in 2019 and told why he took those steps as it formed the important aspect of law domain, Constitution is the grundnorm, the Indian Constitution guarantees the Fundamental rights and Directive Principles of State Policy, he highlighted the idea that vacuums that are created in the Constitution is filled by the judiciary and concluded by wishing all the best to all the participants .
After the enlightening address by Professor Dr J.P. Yadav, the Master of Ceremony threw light on the rules and regulations of the quiz.
Technical Sessions:
The technical sessions commenced by tika ceremony of the Chief Guests, Prof. Dr. Priti Saxena, Department of Human Rights, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University and Prof. Dr. Rajesh Tiwari, Dean of Academics, they were also presented with saplings by Prof. Dr.J.P Yadav, Director, Amity Law School, Amity University Lucknow Campus.
Prof.Dr. Priti Saxena gave an enlightening speech on freedom of speech and expression under Article 19 with reference to electronic media, she spoke about the reasonable restrictions that are put on the freedom of speech and expression, speech and expression guarantees participation of every citizen, she also spoke that the article 19 has been extended to press and print media. To quote her, “Speech is the cornerstone of democracy.”
Valedictory:
The Valedictory Ceremony of the event on ” Constitutional Law ” was conducted on September 27, which began with the welcoming and felicitation of the guests. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) J.P. Yadav, Director, Amity Law School, AUUP, Lucknow campus.
Prof. Dr. J.P. Yadav, Director, Amity Law School, Amity University announced the results presented the valedictory report for the event and hence the felicitation of the students who won the prizes.
Gaurav Chawla from Lucknow University bagged the first prize followed by Rounak Kumar Mishra from Amity University who won the second prize, and third prize was received by Vishal Gupta, PSIT College of Law, Kanpur.
The consolation prizes were won by Mansi Tyagi from Law College, Dehradun and AKash Sharma from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohailkhand University.
Prof. Juhi Saxena, Assistant Professor, Amity Law School, Amity University and the Faculty Convenor of National Amity Quiz 2022 concluded with the ceremony with her speech of Vote of Thanks wherein she offered his gratitude towards the esteemed guests present and the committee members of the National Amity Quiz.
