Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Urges IITians to Lead India’s Next Wave of Reforms at PanIIT Book Launch

New Delhi, June 21: Calling upon IIT alumni to play a greater role in nation-building, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla urged IITians to suggest reforms across sectors and help solve the challenges faced by ordinary citizens. He was addressing the launch of “IIT: The Story of India’s Most Prestigious Educational Ecosystem” and the inauguration of the PanIIT Book Club at IIT Delhi, marking 75 years of the IIT ecosystem.

Addressing an audience of over 400 distinguished alumni, entrepreneurs, policymakers and academicians, Birla said the government is committed to reforms and welcomed expert suggestions from IITians. He assured that valuable recommendations would be forwarded to relevant Parliamentary Standing Committees for consideration.

Highlighting the contribution of IITs, Birla said India has consistently looked towards its premier institutes for solutions in areas ranging from infrastructure and healthcare to artificial intelligence, robotics, space technology and environmental challenges.

The event, organised by Pan IIT Alumni India, also featured the unveiling of a landmark book authored by Shri Prabhat Kumar, IRS, Chairman of Pan IIT Alumni India. Describing the publication as a celebration of India’s innovation journey, Kumar encouraged IITians to “build here, scale here and create for the world.”

The programme included keynote addresses, panel discussions and the formal launch of the PanIIT Book Club, reinforcing the IIT ecosystem’s growing role in shaping Viksit Bharat 2047 through technology, research and entrepreneurship.
