A free Navaratri Writing Contest was organized by Cherry Book Awards on the occasion of Navaratri to promote global writing talents. The jury member picked Writer Sukanya Mondal as the special mention in the Bengali category. Here is the winning write-up by Writer Sukanya Mondal:
দুর্গতীনাশিনি মা দুর্গা
শিউলি ফুলের গন্ধ ছড়িয়েছে যেথায়
সেই গন্ধে মেতেছে সকল মধুকির্নেতে সেথায় ।।
সেই গন্ধে মুগ্ধ হয়ে নেচেছে রংবেরংয়ের কীটপতঙ্গে তে ,
মেতেছে সকল মধুকির্ন ও সেই শ্বেত বর্নের পুষ্প তে ।।
আকাশে বাতাসে চারিদিকে শুধু পুজো পুজো ভাব ও তার আমেজ,
আলক মঞ্চীর মহিষাসুরমর্দিনীর আগমনের অপেক্ষায় তাই তো আজ ও আছে সকল কাশ ফুলে স্বতেজ ।।
তার আগমনের খুশি যে সকল বাঙালীর কাছে অফুরন্ত,
আর তাই তার জন্য করা প্রতি বছরের অপেক্ষার নেই কোন সীমান্ত ।।
সিঁদুর খেলা ও ধুনুচি নাচের সাথে হয় যে তার বিদায় বেলা ,
সেই সকল আমেজ ও যেন কোথাও অদৃশ্য হয়ে যায়, কাশ ফুলগুলি ও যেন মূর্ছিয়ে যায় আসতে আসতে না জানে এ কেমন প্রকৃতির খেলা ?
ঢাকের আওয়াজ এই কটা দিন যেন ভ্রমরের মতো সারাক্ষণ আমাদের কানে বাজে,
পুজো বলে কথা তাই তো মা দূর্গার সাথে তার সকল সন্তান ও নতুন বেশভূষায় সাজে ।।
ঢাক বাজছে চারিদিকে ড্যাঁঙ কু রাকুর কুর
যুগে যুগে নানাভাবে মহিষাসুরমর্দিনীর হাতেই দমন হবে অসুর রুপী মহিষাসুর ।। ।।
